Yarn & Tools

Yarn & Tools

This is the same cotton yarn I used for my Cotton Candy Bag, and they are from local yarn shop/studio; Pinkyfrogshop. My sis actually requested me to make her a shoulder bag quite some time ago, but just can’t decide what yarn to pick. I did ask her to choose a yarn before but she maybe too busy and forgot to respond me. When I saw this Dark Army Green Duriyarn at Pinkyfrog yarn studio I know I have to get one. My sis is green lover. If you show her any items, she will pick green if there is a green.

Before Start

Note :

  1. This bag work in round back and forth.
  2. First chain of the row does not count of stitch.
  3. Optional, place stitch marker on every beginning row to mark as a guide. If you see my base/bottom piece in the picture above, I added 4 stitch maker at the points to guide me where to start and end the increases.

Row 26 : Ch 2, sk 1 st , sc x 18, sc2tog, turn (20sts) continue making the strap

Strap (make 2 sides)

Row 1 – Row 65 : Ch 2, sc at the next st, sc x 18, turn (20sts)

Make another side of shaping and strap. Leave extra long yarn at the end enough to join the strap with whipstitch.

Now the bag is almost completed. If you like the strap to be width you can leave the bag as it is, but I folded it half and whipstitch the sides together. In this way, the strap will be stronger to hold the weight and won’t be stretch out.

Finally, get a button, any design any shape, attached it to the desire position, you don’t have to follow exactly like mine but off course it must be right at the center of the bag. Once attached the button, bring yarn in at the other side of the center of bag, make a long chain with a little extra long or loose to wrap/hook the button and go back to the same stitch you bring in the yarn, slst, cut off yarn, hide the very last yarn end and yay! another project done!

Credit this photo to my niece, she took the photo after I handed to my sister.
