MakeOver ~ Aircon Ledge Area

No Floor Left Naked

Lewis and I been staying here at our cozy apartment for over 2 years. Recently I wanted to transform the aircon-ledge area (refer floor plan above, shown in red) as outdoor storage to keep some of our stuff such as broom, mop, bucket, water container etc.

This area can be accessed thru the window from Bath2. The window opening (450 x 1800mm) started roughly 600mm height from the floor. It’s not meant for access, but I can still climb out, so I wanted to make use of the area.

It is the only bare floor in the apartment. Before this, it was covered with dust and some dry leaf. I took the measurement (1.48m x 1.42m) and started searching floor decking which can be self-install to keep the area clean and nice. Found this 300mm x 300mm “timber like” floor deck @ shopee malaysia. There are few colours and patterns selection. We both like MX63 colour and pattern. Based on the floor area, we will need 5 x 5 pieces = 1.5m x 1.5m. It cannot be cut/trim, so I can’t purchase extra to cover the whole area. As the result, I only purchased 4 x 4 pieces. This seller from Pahang, posted out the items very fast. The quality is equally good~Recommend! Next, either to get carpet glass or stones to fill up the gap. I’m not sure which option easy to maintain, but we had decided stone.

Last Saturday, we went to Jing Garden Nursery near our neighborhood to buy some landscape stone / decorative stone. They don’t have much selection. There is only white stone with 3 different sizes and black stone in 1 size. Unfortunately, they don’t have brown. We picked each a pack of white & black then mixed them up. Once reach home, I can’t wait and proceed to bath2 to clean up the stones and filled up the gap. Taada! Nice and clean area!

Organizer Hack

If you are staying in Klang Valley, you will know that residences around this area, will be facing water disruption once in a while. Hence, having water containers is a must to save or to keep water for our daily usage. We have been having this 3 water containers from our previous apartment. We moved this along to standby, of course we aren’t wishing will be needing them. To keep this 3 containers are literally taking up space when we are living in a small apartment. They aren’t look pretty as a display and we don’t have a store room.

I had an idea to hang the water containers instead of leaving them on the floor. This way I will be able to clean the floor easier without obstruction. There is room below the air-con compressor, so I can utilize the wall bracket. Netting & hook is what I needed.

Found this elastic cargo mesh from shopee too, but from oversea seller. It was meant for car roof rack, but the elastic mesh size and the hook shape look exactly what I wanted. Indeed, perfectly! Look as per my imagination how I want them to hang up. Brilliant “organizer hack!”
