Antique sewing machine

Last years, my uncle was moving to his new place and he his clearing up his stuff. Mum told me about a manual vintage sewing machine that my uncle don’t want to keep, and I said I want it. I cannot or I don’t know how to use a motorise sewing machine, so I’m interested to have the manual one to try and learn.

As you can see from the picture, it wasn’t a manual. Mum said someone modified it from manual to motorise. Anyway, I have it and I got to do something because the white casing already turn yellowish and dirty. First I’m thinking to covered up with sticker, but that maybe easy to stick at the upper cover but hard at the lower part where having the compartment and flip over board.

Nippon Spray paints

After few thought, I go for spray paint. I don’t like shiny effect so I search for matt finishes paint.

Found this Nippon Pylox Lazer Spray Paint online which come in matte finishes and purchased 3 white + 1 black.

Ignore the black, I just bought to spray other stuff. I’m not going to touch on the machine body, because Lewis said don’t spoil the value of the classinese. He even not agree I’m doing anything on it. Just leave it as it is but I can’t.

The machine can be removable from the casing. That easier to spray without worrying damage the machine.

I’m using all 3 bottles of the matte white paint just to paint on the visible part as in the picture with 2 to 3 layers.

I didn’t paint the inside of the cover also not bothering to paint inside as nobody will see.

Tadaa! The sewing machine having a new look now. Just a little bit of work on it. It can now become a display or accessory of my craft corner.
